The Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association, New York Inc. was officially constituted under the laws of New York on December 27, 2007 in the State of New York, USA. We are a federally recognized 501 ( c) non-profit, non-partisan organization.
Membership is open to all non-serving members of the Jamaica Defence Force at home and abroad as well as relatives and friends of members. Meetings are held monthly to keep members informed on the issues in our community, at home and in the US, and also to plan and discuss matters that are pertinent to the operation of the organization.
Our main focus is to support the welfare and well-being of veterans of the Jamaica Defence Force. The thrust of the support will be aimed towards Curphey Home in Jamaica (Home for ex-Service men and women), however, support will be given to ex-service personnel who are indigent but do not reside at Curphey Home.
The organization will also identify projects and initiatives in the local New York community behind which it can lend ITS support.
As part of its mandate the organization will hold several fund-raising events throughout the calendar year to include its signature event in September – a Black Tie Dinner.
